Laminated Suncatcher: Mayapple

This mini origami tessellation has been laminated into a hexagon so it's ready to tape to a window or add a ribbon and hang on a Christmas tree right away.

The laminated area measures 5 inches (12.5 cm) from side to opposite side and the mini tessellation was folded from a hexagon of thin white paper that backlights easily.

The Mayapple pattern contains many different shapes that you can only find by looking closely over a long period of time, so this pattern makes a perfect gift for someone recovering from illness or injury.

The pattern can be viewed from either side and makes a very distinctive window decoration when seen from the outside at night.
