The Half-Adjacent Triangles smocking pattern features a hexagonal arrangement of triangle puffs and I came up with this design by finding what points came together in the eponymous origami tessellation.

The texture is formed by stitching groups of points together on the wrong side of the fabric - no folding needed!

Since these patterns can be repeated infinitely to cover any size of fabric, the PDF shows a subset of the pattern that can be printed or cut out with a Cricut so it can be used as a stencil to copy the pattern onto whatever size of fabric you're using for your project.

This particular pattern has a completely flat back side, without any bumps or wrinkles.

There is no required ordering of stitching the groups of points together in this pattern.

This is an ideal smocking pattern for Christmas stockings, pillows, and more projects where you want a puffy texture that maintains its appearance even with pressure from behind the smocking.
