Puffy Triangles Physical Smocking Templates

Smocking patterns show groups of points to gather together in order to produce a repeated (tessellated) texture on the opposite side of the fabric.

Clear templates with connected points are the easiest way to transfer smocking patterns onto fabric - a big improvement over the traditional method of drawing a grid on your fabric, then marking the groups of points!

These 12"x12" templates come in two pattern densities - coarse and fine - and are made like a stencil from flexible PET plastic.

The Puffy Triangles smocking pattern features interwoven 3D triangles with triangular holes and I came up with this design by considering what would happen if certain points on an origami tessellation of open triangle twists were pulled closer together.

This particular pattern would need curved creases to make in paper, like Jeannine Mosely's Sails, yet it's among the easiest possible smocking patterns with no required order of pulling groups of points together.

The pattern density does not affect the shrinkage rate, and your template will ship within 3 business days from when your order is placed.
