Herringbone Weave Physical Smocking Templates

Smocking patterns show groups of points to gather together in order to produce a repeated (tessellated) texture on the opposite side of the fabric.

Clear templates with connected points are the easiest way to transfer smocking patterns onto fabric - a big improvement over the traditional method of drawing a grid on your fabric, then marking the groups of points!

These 12"x12" templates come in two pattern densities - coarse and fine - and are made like a stencil from flexible PET plastic.

The Herringbone Weave smocking pattern features a woven effect in the herringbone style and I came up with this design by extrapolating from my Herringbone Weave origami tessellation design.

This particular pattern has a special feature, which is a line that passes through the pattern in a way that any seam along that line will be completely hidden from view after smocking. These lines are vertical in the pattern PDF.

The PDF pattern is also included in your purchase of a physical template to provide more information about the pattern (notably the shrinkage so you can plan how much fabric you'll need for your project) and about how to use the template.

The pattern density does not affect the shrinkage rate, and your template will ship within 3 business days from when your order is placed.
